hy.muve
hy.muve (for "Hydrogen-Driven Municipal Vehicle", so hydrogen-pursued municipal vehicle) is the project name for a road sweeper vehicle with fuel cell impulse. It is a pilot project of the competence centre for energy and mobility of the ETH board (CCEM) and was developed by Empa, Paul Scherrer institute (PSI), Bucher Schörling, Proton Motor and other industrial partners. It is the worldwide first municipal vehicle with hydrogen impulse which is tested in practice.

The vehicle is being field-tested from May, 2009 during six months in Basel within the scope of the Novatlantis project «Experience space mobility» as a part of the activities of the 2000-watt society - pilot's region Basel. The application should indicate the operating and ageing behaviour of the used components and serve as a research object for socioeconomic studies.
